  Jimmie - Master Barber
Not just barbering... Styling as an art form.

How?  Just ask Jimmie.

If there was one word to describe Jimmie, it would be "dedicated."  With over 15 years experience, Jimmie has become an expert in this industry.  Using only the best in tools and skill, he supplies his client with styles that are fresh and impressionable, not soon forgotten.  Seeing is believing!  (Click here for Jimmie's portfolio.)

"It's an honor and a privilege to cut hair."  While still a young adult, Jimmie developed the skill and realized he had the talent to succeed as a barber.  He attended Sidney Collier Technical College (1996-1999) and graduated to make his start as a professional.  Initially, he began in a shop behind his sister's home and eventually relocated to work at Outta Control Barber & Beauty Salon (2001-2003).

However, always the insatiable entrepreneur, Jimmie could not let his ingenuity go to waste.  Before long he found a place of his own.  An overgrown lot on St.Bernard Av. soon became the innovative Stop Jockin Barber & Beauty Salon.  First opened January 2003, Stop Jockin very quickly became a popular spot.  Stop Jockin has survived the storm to continue to become what Jimmie calls, "the 'Black Man's Country Club', where people can just come and talk about anything, neighborhood, corner store...whatever you feel."

While developing his establishment and clothing line, Jimmie has appeared in numerous hair shows and participated in their featured competitions (Atlanta, Chicago,  Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York).  His many accolades include awards at Master Barber Competitions - Memphis, TN - First Place (2005) and Second Place (2004).  He has worked on several movie sets and barbered for the NFL.  He is currently featured at FirstFridays each month and is scheduled to appear at all of the SalonLocators Hair Shows in New Orleans, LA.
